Returns and refunds
Ordered the wrong size, changed your mind, or something’s not right? Here’s how returns work at LM Bearings.
1.At a glance
This policy doesn’t affect your legal rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
2.Changed your mind
If you bought as a consumer (for yourself rather than a business), you can cancel your order for any reason within 14 days of the day you receive it. Just tell us within that time (the easiest way is My Account → Orders, see below), then send the item back within a further 14 days.
- Items should be unused, not fitted, and returned in their original packaging where possible. Bearings are precision parts: once one has been pressed onto a shaft or into a housing, it can’t be resold as new.
- You can look at and handle the item as you would in a shop, for example to check its size. If it has been handled more than that, fitted or damaged, we may reduce your refund to reflect the loss in value.
- You pay the cost of sending a change-of-mind return back to us. Please use a tracked service insured for the full value of the items, and keep your proof of postage. The items are your responsibility until they reach us, so we can’t refund anything lost or damaged on the way back if it wasn’t sent this way.
- If you cancel the whole order, we’ll also refund the original delivery charge (up to the cost of our standard delivery).
Ordered the wrong size? Before you send it back, get in touch. We can often confirm the right part and send it out as soon as the return is on its way.
3.Cancelling before it’s sent
Changed your mind before your order has been dispatched? Sign in to My Account → Orders and choose Cancel order, or contact us as soon as possible. If it hasn’t left us yet, we’ll cancel it and refund you in full, including delivery.
4.Faulty or damaged parts
Everything we sell should be as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose. If it isn’t:
- Within 30 days of delivery: you can reject it for a full refund, or ask for a replacement.
- After 30 days: we’ll offer a replacement first. If that isn’t possible or doesn’t fix the problem, you’re entitled to a refund, which may be reduced to reflect the use you’ve had.
- In the first 6 months, a fault is assumed to have been there when it was delivered, unless we can show otherwise.
- We cover the cost of returning faulty items, and we’ll refund your reasonable return postage.
Please don’t fit a part you think is damaged or incorrect. Bearings can fail early if they’re damaged, fitted incorrectly, poorly lubricated, overloaded or used outside their rating. Wear and tear, or damage caused by these, isn’t a fault with the part. If a bearing has failed in use, send us photos and a short description first, and we’ll look into it fairly.
5.Wrong or missing items, or damaged in transit
If we’ve sent the wrong part, something is missing, or the parcel arrives damaged, please contact us with your order number and a photo. Letting us know within 48 hours helps us claim from the courier and sort it quickly, but it doesn’t affect your legal rights. We’ll send the correct item at no cost to you and arrange collection or a prepaid label for anything that needs to come back.
6.How to return an item
- Request your returnSign in to My Account → Orders and choose Request a return next to your order, telling us which items and why. No account? Use our contact form or email [EMAIL] with your order number instead. Please don’t send items back without letting us know, as they may be delayed.
- Pack it securelyUse the original packaging if you can, and include a note with your name and order number.
- Send it to usPost it to the returns address we give you: [RETURNS ADDRESS TBC]. For change-of-mind and trade returns, use a tracked service insured for the full value of the items, and keep your proof of postage. For faulty or incorrect items, we’ll arrange the return for you.
- We check it and refund youWe’ll email you when it arrives and once your refund has been processed.
7.Refunds
- We refund to your original payment method, within 14 days of receiving the item back (or of you showing us proof you’ve sent it, if that’s sooner).
- For faulty items, we refund within 14 days of agreeing the item is faulty.
- Depending on your bank or card provider, it can take a few more working days to show in your account.
- Trade discounts are refunded at the price you actually paid.
8.What we can’t accept
- Parts that have been fitted, used, modified or damaged after delivery, unless they’re faulty (see section 4).
- Items specially ordered, cut or made to your specification, unless they’re faulty. We’ll always tell you before you order if an item falls into this group.
- Change-of-mind returns reported more than 14 days after delivery.
9.Trade and business customers
The 14-day change-of-mind right in section 2 is for consumers. If you’re buying for a business, including on a trade account:
- We’ll accept unused items in their original, unopened packaging within 30 days of delivery, as long as you contact us first.
- Return postage is paid by you, using a tracked service insured for the full value of the items, and a restocking charge of 10% may apply to non-faulty returns.
- Faulty, incorrect or damaged items are handled as in sections 4 and 5.
